Fujifilm XQ2 review

Even higher-end camera lines need an entry-level model.

The Fujifilm XQ2 is an attractive advanced compact with a fast f1.8 maximum aperture and good low-light photo quality. It has a satisfying mix of manual and automatic shooting options and plenty of things with which to experiment. There's ample direct...

The XQ2 has limited Wi-Fi functionality; no built-in neutral density filter; it's essentially the same as its predecessor, the XQ1; and video quality is just OK.

The Fujifilm QX2 doesn't improve much on its predecessor, but with its larger image sensor, bright lens and fast performance even in low light, this stylish pocket camera is an excellent step-up from your smartphone or average point-and-shoot.

Fujifilm XQ2

The Fujifilm XQ2 is a pocket-friendly camera that is capable of capturing excellent images.

X-Trans image sensor. Good high ISO image quality. 1080p60 video. 12.6fps burst mode. Fast focus. Raw capture.

Limited zoom range. Aperture narrows to f/4.9 at maximum telephoto. No hot shoe or EVF option. External charger not included.

Performance and Conclusions The XQ2 starts and shoots in about 1.3 seconds, and focuses almost instantly. It has a Super High burst mode that works in JPG only and can capture a 10-shot burst at 12.6fps. It does pause after ten shots, and requires...

Fujifilm XQ2

The new Fujifilm XQ2 is a pocket-sized digicam with an F1.8 maximum aperture, 4x optical-zoom lens, Full 1080p HD video recording with stereo sound, and a 12-megapixel 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II image sensor that is "designed to control moiré and false...

Fuji XQ2 review

Fuji's smart-looking compact camera is tiny but tough, and a delight to use

Pocketable and well designed ; Intuitive menu system ; Good focal length range ; Excellent film simulation modes

Lens and sensor not up with the very best in its class ; Dynamic range a little limited ; Noisy at higher ISOs ; No tilting screen

A thoroughly enjoyable camera to use. It does everything pretty well but falls short of challenging the very best in its class – a 1-inch sensor, better lens and a tilting touch-screen would potentially make the difference.

Fujifilm XQ2 review: A snappy-looking shooter that doesn't mind the dark

Though it's a very modest update from its predecessor, the XQ2 is nonetheless a competent bright-lens compact for more than a full-auto experience.

Not much use for video, but the Fujifilm XQ2 strikes an excellent balance of image quality, compactness and price.

Calling the Fujifilm XQ2 a modest upgrade is something of an understatement - it's identical to the original XQ1 camera, except for a faster image proccesor, new Classic Chrome film simulation, new white colour-way, and a slightly lower official price...

Fujifilm XQ2 Review

Fujifilm has unveiled the XQ2, an ultra-portable, high-end pocket camera that keeps both form and function a top priority. Part of their X-Series, the Fuji XQ2 is a successor to the company's XQ1, a powerful, pocketable beast in its own regard.

The Fujifilm XQ2 is set to be released in February 2015 in black, white or black and silver with a suggested retail price of US$399.95.
