Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus

Samsung's SSD 970 EVO Plus is less expensive and just as capable as its predecessor, making it an excellent choice for installation in a gaming rig or high-end PC upgrade.

Aggressive cost per gigabyte. Excellent performance for writing data. Multiple capacity options. Good reliability rating.

Lags slightly in random throughput.

Bottom Line: Samsung's SSD 970 EVO Plus is less expensive and just as capable as its predecessor, making it an excellent choice for installation in a gaming rig or high-end PC upgrade.

Samsung 970 EVO Plus review: Samsung's entry-level NVMe SSD is faster and cheaper

Samsung has tweaked the firmware of its 970 EVO m.2 NVMe drive, and the result is the faster, cheaper 970 EVO Plus.

Fast everyday performance ; More affordable than the 970 Pro ; Write performance drop is mild compared to that of other TLC drives

Slows to 875MBps during long writes

The 970 EVO Plus is more affordable than ever, and will run like a champ the vast majority of the time. Even when it drops out of cache, 850MBps isn't going to cause you much buyer remorse. If you want something better than bargain-basement (which is...

Samsung 970 Evo Plus review: A definite improvement

The 970 Evo Plus is a speedy and much-improved SSD, even if it's not the best outright

Faster than the 970 Evo ; Less expensive than the 970 Evo

Still lost in a crowd of better SSDs

However, it’s not the NVMe SSD you should definitely buy. The XPG SX8200 Pro is still far better value, thanks to its lower per-gigabyte costs across its entire range of capacities. It may not be as fast as the 970 Evo Plus, but it’s still very nimble,...

Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD Review

Gav returns from the dead to review the brand new Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB SSD. It's NVMe which means it's really fast and it looks to make V-Nand SSDs much more competitive with a global fall in SSD prices.

Samsung 970 EVO Plus Review

Samsung hasn't missed a beat in their last few SSD launches, but this latest one is a bit different, introducing a "Plus" range of the EVO SSDs. Is it really anything extra? Let's find o...

+ Better than the already great 970 EVO in every test + Looks good + Competitive price + Easy to install + 5-year warranty

- None

It’s only 8 months since the initial release of the 970 EVO but already Samsung have somehow managed to push write speeds through the roof. We found an increase in all of our tests for the same capacity, some increases were smaller than others, but an...

Samsung's new 970 EVO Plus replaces the ever-popular 970 EVO as its mainstream NVMe SSD for tech enthusiasts, hardcore gamers, and professionals. Samsung equipped the SSD with its new V5 flash, which provides a nice bump in performance up to 3.5 GB/s...

Solid overall performance ; Black PCB ; Excellent software package

Could use further efficiency optimization

With better performance, efficiency, and lower MSRPs, Samsung’s 970 EVO Plus is a big "plus" in almost every way over its predecessor. It rivals its bigger brother, the 970 PRO, and comes with a complete software suite, making the Samsung 970 EVO Plus...

Mit der Samsung 970 Evo Plus im Steckkarten-Format M.2 will das südkoreanische Unternehmen neue Temporekorde aufstellen. Klappt das? COMPUTER BILD hatte die kaugummistreifengroße SSD im Test.

Samsung 970 Evo en 970 Pro - Nieuwe nvme-drives in bijna alles beter
