Lenovo Tab 2 A8 review

The Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50 is perfect if you're on a tight budget, but don't expect the speed or perks of a high-end tablet.

Solid build ; Stereo speakers ; Great battery life ; Near stock Android experience

Sluggish performance ; Poor Camera ; Slow Wi-Fi ; No quick charging

Lenovo A8 review

Although Lenovo is marketing the A8 as a great bargain for buyers with a tight budget, it doesn't live up to expectations. You can buy a 2013 Nexus 7 from Google for only $50 more, and you should.

Lenovo Tab 2 A8

The Lenovo Tab 2 A8 is an average 8-inch Android tablet that delivers solid battery life for a good price, but does little else to stand out from the competition.

Long battery life. Bright, colorful screen. Lightweight.

Sluggish performance. Tinny speakers. Some bloatware.

Conclusions The Lenovo Tab 2 A8 is a resoundingly average Android tablet. If you're looking for an 8-inch tablet with long battery life for when you don't have access to a power outlet, it'll do the trick. But you'll get a lot more bang for your buck...

Lenovo Tab 2 A8 review

If you can spend more than a few bones on a tablet, I highly recommend doing so. If you can't, the Lenovo Tab 2 A8 is a decent tablet that'll satisfy simple needs.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A8 is an affordable tablet for surfing the Web, checking email and streaming video. The preloaded Dolby app significantly improves audio quality. It has a microSD card slot.

The design is thick and hefty. The 1,280x800-resolution display is low by today's standards. Large apps and games take a while to load, and performance within them is sometimes sluggish.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A8's performance is typical for its size and price, but if you're strapped for cash, it's fine for casual use.

Lenovo A8 blue

Its simple specs are on par with similar budget 8-inchers, like the pure-Android-packing Dell Venue 8 . It consistently performs smoothly during most basic tasks, but its audio-enhancing Dolby Digital app gives it a slight performance edge.

The Lenovo A8 starts at $179 and features a comfy and lightweight build. The built-in Dolby Digital audio integration enhances the mono speaker's sound quality, and its IPS screen boasts wide-viewing angles, with deep contrast levels.

There is no app tray, and organization of menu screens can get tedious. Both rear- and front-facing cameras produce dull photos.

The Lenovo A8 is a solid, simple slate, but its lack of an app tray makes other budget options more appealing.

Lenovo A8 review

With a starting price of $179, the Lenovo A8 will satisfy bargain shoppers that have basic needs. However its lack of app tray produces an unnecessarily unorganized experience.

Lenovo Tab 2 A8 Tablet Review

Android 5.0 for cheap. The Tab 2 A8 promises extensive multimedia features for an affordable price of $129. Is this a worthy successor to last year's 8-inch Tab A8?

Inexpensive, Bright display, MiraVision color settings, Optional dual Micro SIM support with GSM and 4G LTE, Good battery life, MicroSD support, Fast eMMC performance, Android 5.0, Good front-facing speakers

No ambient light sensor, Heavier than other 8-inch tablets, Only 1 GB RAM; 1280 x 800 resolution, Performance can slow quickly, Touchscreen often registers inputs incorrectly

The Tab 2 A8 is a respectable tablet for its asking price of $129. Display brightness and battery life are both above average and sound quality is quite good considering its budget market. Unfortunately, not much else about the device can be praised....
