Fujifilm X-A2

The Fujifilm X-A2 is a very capable mirrorless camera, but it's a little pricey for an entry-level model.

Solid image quality. 5.6fps burst shooting. Attractive design. Sharp kit lens. Built-in flash. Selfie LCD. Wi-Fi.

A little slow to focus. Doesn't support add-on EVF. No remote control via Wi-Fi. Video limited to 1080p30. No mic input.

Performance and Conclusions The X-A2 starts and captures an in-focus image in about 1.6 seconds, focuses in 0.15-second, and can shoot at up to 5.6fps in continuous mode. It's not the speediest mirrorless camera in terms of startup, but it's not as...

Fujifilm X-A2

The Fujifilm X-A2 offers very high image quality, while giving relatively inexperienced photographers plenty of easy-to-use features as they're migrating from a beginner-level camera to this mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. The X-A2 also has all...

Very good image quality ; RAW and JPEG formats available ; Plenty of automatic and manual control shooting options ; Good performance times overall ; Can shoot at up to 5.6 frames per second in burst mode with the right lens attached ; Popup flash...

Limited movie recording to 30 frames per second ; Back panel control buttons could be a little bigger ; Mode dial could be smaller, as it has too many options ; Touchscreen LCD would be nice to have in this type of camera ; No viewfinder option...

Fujifilm X-A2 review

Fuji's retro-inspired X-series gets a capable new entry-level model

Affordable price ; Decent quality kit lens ; Strong build quality and performance

No viewfinder ; Screen hard to use in sunlight ; Adjustment dial gets jogged frequently

A solidly built entry-level system camera offering a lot for the price

Fuji X-A2 review

Fuji's most affordable CSC gets a little upgrade for selfie-lovers

Overall image quality ; AF performance ; Classic Chrome film simulation

No viewfinder ; No remote camera control via Wi-Fi ; Beaten for resolution by 24Mp rivals

A solid feeling entry-level interchangeable-lens camera which lacks a viewfinder, but that has enough other features to satisfy novices and enthusiasts on a budget. Image quality is also usually high.

Fujifilm X-A2 interchangeable-lens camera jumps on selfie bandwagon

Directly converted, those prices equate to £363/£462 and AU$673/AU$857; I don't have actual kit configurations or pricing for those regions yet, but I'll update as soon as I do.

As far as I can tell, those are the only changes -- the specifications are essentially identical to the A1 -- and it doesn't seem terribly compelling compared to what's out there. It's still a physically attractive camera, but there's so much...

Fujifilm X-A2 Review

The Fujifilm X-A2 is a new entry-level compact system camera designed to take better selfies, thanks to its 175° tilting LCD screen with face and eye detection. Key features of the X-A2 include a 16.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, newly-developed Eye...

The new Fujifilm X-A2 is a very modest upgrade of the X-A1, but the few improvements that Fujifilm have made are important ones for the camera's main target market of compact-camera and smartphone upgraders looking to take their first step into the...

Fujifilm X-A2 Review

The Fuji X-A2 feels designed for both new, step-up photographers as well as more experienced ones who expect additional physical controls. And though it lacks the fancy X-Trans sensor of higher-end Fuji cameras, the image quality is rather impressive...

Very good image quality; Great high ISO performance for its class; Very good optical performance from the kit lens; Decent battery life; Very good value for the money

No built-in EVF; Slower than average full autofocus shutter lag in testing; Sluggish continuous AF for stills & video; Mediocre burst speeds; Limited dynamic range with JPEGs; No remote control with Wi-Fi
