The BDP-S500 is a powerful Blu-ray player, geared towards enthusiasts. Its high-end audio capabilities is best suited to a system that already has high quality audio products, although even on its own it's a great device.

Excellent audio performance, great Blu-ray and DVD upscaling playback, streamlined interface, attractive design

Excellent all round blu-ray player from Sony, if a little pricey ..

A few frustrating absences such as the Blu-ray 1.1 profile and DTS-HD Master Audio are more than made up for with supreme HD picture quality and Dolby TruHD along with DTS-HD High Resolution audio.

Dem Test von AUDIO VIDEO FOTO BILD musste diesmal der Sony BDP-S500 standhalten. Mit der Wiedergabe von HD-Camcorder-Aufnahmen konnte der Blu-ray-Player bereits punkten.

lange Einlesezeiten; schlechte Fehlerkorrektur für DVDs; langsame Fotowiedergabe

Die fehlende Unterstützung für die Profile 1.1 und 2.0 wird durch hervorragende Bild- und Tonqualität etwas ausgeglichen.

Pas de prise en charge du DTS-HD, pas de port Ethernet, pas de compatibilité avec les bonus PIP en BD-Java, pas de compatibilité SACD, prix élevé
