Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2

A thin and light tablet that runs Windows 8 Pro, but it's designed for basic tasks only

Small and light ; Built-in USB, microSD and Mini HDMI

Sluggish performance ; Poor sharpness

Lenovo's ThinkPad Tablet 2 runs Windows 8 Pro on hardware that's small, light, and perfectly suited to a mobile user's needs. However, because it's an Atom-based tablet, its performance isn't great, and you might get frustrated if you try to do too...

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2

Lenovo's first 10.1in Windows 8 tablet is sleek and light but is it worth a look?

Stylish, light and well built ; Good battery life ; Integrated stylus

Atom processor struggles ; May be better suited to Windows RT (with free MS Office) ; Slow USB

It copes well with full HD video, but don’t even think about anything but the most basic 3D gaming, multi-tasking or heavy duty applications, such as image or video editors. The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 grinds to a halt running these.

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 Review

Lenovo's ThinkPad Tablet 2 is a huge step up from its Android-based predecessor, and the stylus works great, but its use is hampered by a weak processor and Windows 8's inability to scale to a tablet-sized screen.

Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tablet 2 is a huge step up from its Android-based predecessor, and the stylus works great, but its use is hampered by a weak processor and Windows 8’s inability to scale to a tablet-sized screen. Tiny menus, freezes, and slowdowns dim...

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 review

The ThinkPad Tablet 2 is the best low-powered Windows 8 tablet we've tested, thanks to its 10-hour battery and an unmatched typing experience.

Long battery life ; Comfortable keyboard ; Allows for pen input ; Wide viewing angles

Pen support isn't standard ; Bluetooth occasionally causes typing lags ; USB port doesn't work with USB hard drives or external optical drives

Until now, all of our recommendations of Atom-powered Windows 8 tablets have come with faint praise: most of these products have been marred by cramped keyboards, middling runtime and occasionally poky performance. Even the okay one, the Acer Iconia...

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 review

A slick, expensive jack-of-all-trades

Surprisingly good keyboard ; All day battery life ; Slick, attractive build ; The full compatibility of Windows 8

Trackpoint mouse ; Essential accessories drive up the price ; Tablet can fall out of dock ; Atom processor is slow ; Expensive

We like the Lenovo ThinkPad 2, but just barely. It won us over with its good looks, solid keyboard and excellent battery life. Still, we'd never recommend it as your sole computing option. This is a traveler's device, for when you don't have the bag...

Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright

Atom-based Windows 8 slates continue to flood the market from every corner, but who would have thought the biggest budget option would be a ThinkPad? At a base price of $729, the ThinkPad Tablet 2 is the cheapest 10-inch, Atom-based slate I've reviewed...

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2

The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 combines touch, all-day battery life, and ThinkPad styling to the Windows 8 Slate tablet market.

Very compact and light. Integrated stylus storage. Uses micro USB for charging. Very good battery life.

Slow multimedia benchmark scores. Intel GMA graphics. Only 2GB of memory. A 32-bit OS. USB port is low-powered. No erase button on stylus. No latch on keyboard accessory.

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 review

In a weird way, my excitement about Windows 8 tablets started with the Motorola Atrix, which is neither a tablet nor runs Windows 8. Basically, the Atrix promised to turn your gadgets into Legos....

Solid build quality ; Good battery life ; One of the best Bluetooth keyboards I've used

Gets expensive quickly ; You'll want an external mouse at all times ; Atom processor can't handle powerful apps

It does the basics beautifully, but hits its ceiling quickly

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 review

Lenovo, maker of the fabled ThinkPad brand, has had a long and storied history with touch-screen laptop/tablet hybrids. At a time years ago when most other PC makers wouldn't go near the tiny convertible tablet market, there was always a ThinkPad model...

The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 is the best-looking Atom Windows 8 tablet yet, and the optional keyboard dock is excellent. All-day battery life makes it great for travel.

The Tablet 2 is expensive, especially considering the small 64GB SSD, lack of USB 3.0, and generally slow Atom performance.

This Windows 8 tablet from Lenovo scores with great industrial design and battery life, but adding practically required accessories makes the ThinkPad Tablet 2 very expensive for what you get.
